Collection: Edition Begegnung (encounter)

With his mural "Begegnung" (encounter) created for the Lower Saxony state representation in 2016, Christian Awe set a creative symbol for freedom and tolerance. The radiance of the colors and the dynamics of the forms are intended to give the viewer a positive feeling of confidence and a "we". The blue background stands for freedom, longing and the EU. At the same time, its three-dimensional structure is reminiscent of water - a force of nature, but also a source of life. The white, gestural splashes that spread across the artwork like small eruptions are reminiscent of escape routes, while the intense colors of the two poles underline the meeting of cultures - Orient meets Occident.

The proceeds from this edition were initially used to support participatory cultural projects with refugees. Now they will benefit Christian Awe's school and hospital project in Burkina Faso.
